Within thirteen years, Alexander the Great, heir to the throne of Macedonia, became the greatest conqueror of Antiquity by constituting a vast empire. From the Macedonian mountains to the shores of the Indus River and up to the foot of the Himalayans, he united the West and the East into a single immense territory which today encompasses the land occupied by Greece, Turkey, Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. All that remains are detailed accounts written after his death by Greek and Latin historians such as Plutarch, Arrian, Diodorus of Sicily and Quintus Curtius Rufus. However, these do truly reveal to us every aspect of Alexander's life and personality : his conquests, battles, heroes, death and legend. No less than the complete body of written testimonies passed down to us from Antiquity are made available to us in this book. It is now up to the reader to create his or her own scenario.
