Between action and humour, the peregrinations in Tibet of a trio of colourful characters: the young Parisian bourgeoise, the captain of the NGIG and the Tibetan monk. After a hostage-taking, Alex, the captain of the NGIG obsessed by his job, must save a Tibetan personality close to the Dalai Lama. A succession of events leads him to the high Himalayan plateaux flanked by a celebrity journalist, Charlotte Bâton de la Butte, and a Buddhist monk. Those characters who have absolutely nothing in common will discover the Khampa nomads and a mysterious naldjorpa, « a man with secret words ». At the end of the adventure are other paths that neither Alex nor Charlotte thought to take one day! Un capitaine du GIGN, une journaliste people et un jeune moine tibétain se retrouvent dans les hauts plateaux désertiques de la région autonome du Tibet. Pour sauver le 17e karmapa (n°3 dans la hiérarchie religieuse après le Dalaï-lama) ils seront aidés par un mystérieux "naldjorpas"- homme à la parole secrète- et côtoieront les fameux nomades Khampas.
