The Yellow Train, a story told in numbers, dates and technical innovations… Here is the story of an extraordinary century-old train which has revolutionised this corner of France called Cerdagne. The Yellow Train, sometimes called the “canary”, runs on a meter-gauge track along 62.8 kilometres in the beautiful mountains of the regional park of the Catalan Pyrenees eventually passing through the highest station in France, Bolquère/Eyne (altitude 1,593 m). The area of the Pyrenees Orientales, with its innovation of electric traction for the Yellow Train, has been a pioneer in sustainable development, a current concern.
