Alexandre is a student at Clermont-Ferrand, and he goes back to his parents’ house for the holidays. He can’t wait to see his old friend, Mr Corbefin, a retired chemist. But his friend is not there and Alexandre finds out that he’s been kidnapped. Who did it and why? Alexandre starts investigating… Les vacances ont commencé et Alexandre rentre chez ses parents, dans le Puy-de-Dôme. Il a hâte de retrouver le calme de la campagne et de rendre visite à son ami, monsieur Corbefin, un chimiste à la retraite. En effet, dans son dernier mail, monsieur Corbefin lui annonce qu’il a découvert quelque chose de très important. Hélas, Alexandre arrive trop tard : le chimiste a été enlevé ! Le jeune homme décide de se lancer à la recherche de son ami…
