Salome's Dance of Seven Veils

Marco de Prosperis' arrangement of Richard Strauss’ Salome's Dance of Seven Veils for two pianos sheds new light on the movement originally conceived for orchestra: The alternation between the different instrumental groups is transformed into a dialogic interplay between the two pianists, and the orchestral complexity is translated into virtuoso, interlocking piano passages. In this way, both the orientalist coloration and the ecstasy of the finale are also impressively brought to bear in a chamber music setting. Schwierigkeitsgrad: 4-5
