FABLE AND FOLK TALE

Two spirited movements evoke the mystery and excitement of good storytelling. The opening Fable features boldly profiled music interjected with spoken words – “Once upon a time...” The Folk Tale takes a simple melody through a set of brisk and often surprising variations.
