From letters by Beethoven written in 1817/18 to Nannette von Streicher.The letters deal obsessively with his laundry, problems with servants, his health and moving house. He whips himself into a frenzy of paranoia and is even able to make unfavorably comparisons between his maid’s poor behavior and Christ’s suffering on Golgotha.© 2020 Gerald Barry
